TOBOGGANING IN THE SNOW – Recommended preparation and remedies
We recently had the pleasure of soft white snow blanketing our neighborhood. The excitement it creates in children is awesome. Why don’t adults have the same enthusiasm? Could it be the slow drive to work in the snow, the cold or some other factors that children don’t worry about?
I think one of the reasons that adults don’t involve themselves in the fun of Tobogganing down the hills because they aren’t physically able to. Most adults, through past injuries, improper training or a lack of flexibility, have a higher chance of injury because the body doesn’t bounce as well with muscle and joint stiffness. Here are some solutions to look into:
Body Rolling is an amazing way to limber up the body at home. The results are truly amazing for any type of joint, muscle, ligament, or tendon problems. By proper applied technique’s you can heal or correct any imbalances if long term damage hasn’t yet set in.
Use Mag Phos in hot water to help relax the muscle. When you go to the park with your children instead of putting coffee or Tea in your thermos cup, put hot water with 10 tabs of Mag Phos and 10 tabs of Ferr Phos to help maintain your energy and avoid cramping. Add a touch of honey to sweeten things up a bit.
Also Remember Arnica and other key homeopathic remedies for injuries that might occur. Calc Fluor is a great tissue salt for sprains and strains during snow type of activities.
Remember if you do go tobogganing for a few hours stretch or body roll afterwards to release tension and speed up recovery. The key is to keep a balance of being flexible and strong so you can enjoy the snow anytime it visits your neighborhood!
